Sunset

Sunset
the big man's dead
Red, orange, gold
gone...he is gone
gorgeous, simply gorgeous
how...why...NO
The sky is on fire
gone, dead, gone
Get the camera, honey
he couldn't be gone
Hurry, get the camera!
he was so strong
I need a picture
he was so brave
Now, a picture
he took care of me
Is this a gift?
he is here
Longest sunset I ever saw
he is still with me
The sky...so bright, beautiful
my gift from him
Still going, changing
not separated
How long can it last?
changed, but not gone
Fading now, night is falling
he is in my heart
I have the pictures
he is in my soul
This sunset will stay with me forever
he will be with me forever

(((Kari:))) This is an absolutely beautiful tribute to your Dad. I am sorry about the physical loss of your Dad even if he is with you in spirit. I send you and your family my loving thoughts and hugs.
Sorry for the loss of your father kari.
K@ri, so sorry for your loss! A beautiful gift you received at his passing, His way of letting you know He is still here. What a beautiful tribute and expression of gratitude intermingled with your sorrow. Blessings to you at this time and going forward.

Hey, Kari.
Love the poem.
Love you,
Diana
I'm sorry for your loss, Kari. I'm sure that this "big man" was a proud and happy father. :)
Thank you Kari - that is a wonderful tribute to Dad. Love you!
My Darling Daughter---I am so blessed by this tribute to Dad, and so glad that you had this experience. He loved you so much---and love never dies. Remember that he is alive in the heavenly dimension, and we will see him again someday. We mourn now, but we'll rejoice with him again someday! I love you. Mom
I think your tribute should be published in a hospice book. The sunsets can be sunrises for those saying their goodbys.
what a beautiful memorial. My sincere condolence. Abby
Kari, There are no words... so... ::hugs:: I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. A beautiful tribute.
Sorry for your loss K@ari, what a beautiful way to remember him. Your poem is truly touching.
Some of the most beautiful things come from loss. I am sorry you had to lose your dad. My heart goes out to you.
By the time people are grown up and get older you can tell by just looking what kind of people they are - your dad was very very special - a well-balanced man, I can tell - and it explains why you are so special too! xo
He would be honored to see this hub! Absolutely beautiful poem & pictures. I can only hope my children would remember me or be inspired enough to leave something this beautiful in my memory.....
That was really cool the way you set it up. Very unique. I'm terribly sorry about your dad, though. I hope you are doing well now.
You should follow me and read some of my hubs.
Hey there Kari.....This is such a wonderful thing to do to honor your dad. He was something else at telling stories when he and your mom came to CT to visit.....gonna miss that .....you take care.....
I can not say in words so I send hugs with my deepest feelings for your loss of your dad.Just remember the times you did things together and you will feel his strength.I am proud you shared the great bond between you two with fellow hubbers.Have a nice day.
Hi Kari,
So very sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. My mother died in late January of this year also and while I know that she is in a better place, I still miss her so very much as I know you miss your Dad. Your tribute was really lovely. You still have your Mom and your children. Hug them, love them and treasure the time spent with them.
It is never easy losing a parent. I know. I have lost both of mine plus both of my brothers. Thank heavens for the life after this one. It makes it all bearable.
Hugs and best wishes.
I was missing my dad.So I came to your hub to share your inspiration and bond between you and your dad.I feel like smiling again.
Lovely!
K@ri. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. This was a beautiful tribute. I almost lost my dad last year and I was horrified. Every since, I have these panic attacks because he's not completely out of the woods and every time the phone rings my heart falls to my stomach. My prayer for you is strength. God Bless.
K@ri. Hi. What a beautiful tribute/poem to your Dad.
He must have been a very Special Man.
You will only have to close your eyes and he will be there in every Sunset.
Thanks for sharing this Poem with us. It really was written with love. :) :)
